I will be back in 2 weeks

Send a JibJab Sendables® eCard Today!

OK, I leave for America in 2 days. Nicole will be building houses in Mexico and I'm going to be with my family in Oregon. I will bring my laptop and maybe blog (maybe) on our family blog. Please pray for Juergen who will be staying home with the kids. Sarah is going to have a problem, she is already falling apart. As my friend Jodi wrote, Sarah will learn to trust me more when I go and come back. I have a full weekend so I am saying goodbye now. See you all soon!

Today I'm Chinese

Sarah went with me when I got my haircut today. When we waited for our turn, Sarah was all over me. She was hugging me and kissing me. It was sweet. One of the things she said to me was, "Mama Chinese". I said , "am I Chinese"? She said "yes, Mama Chinese". Sarah loves China, and so that was a pretty high complement. I said that China was wonderful and I wish I was as beautiful as a Chinese person. I'm so blessed.

I have a family!

I checked the New Day website, and it looks like Seth has a family. I don't understand it but they are now calling him Luke on the site. I'm pretty sure it's the very same kid...and oh how I love this kid! How wonderful he got a family!!!

How can I leave my baby?

This morning Sarah broke down at kindergarten crying. I picked her up and held her for 10 minutes. Her teacher did not understand what was happening. I leave in 4 days. I can hardly believe it's just 4 days until I travel to America. I've got suitcases in my bedroom. Sarah saw the suitcases just before kindergarten. I think she is starting to get anxious. I finally was able to get her to calm down and stay with her teacher. It will break my heart to kiss her goodbye on Monday. I know Juergen will be able to manage it, but I'm going to miss all my kids when I'm gone. I will never understand what it took for her birth mother to place her on a stone bench and walk away. I'm sure the poor women felt she had zero choice. I can not tell you how deeply I love her. Even missing 2 weeks of her childhood is difficult. I will be very sad the days in America will be too short. The time with my family entirely too short. The only thing I will not regret will be returning home to the warm arms of Juergen and the kids. I love my man...and I love my kids!!!

Water fun

They do such a great job caring for the kids at New day Foster care in China. The boy in light blue is Seth and I think he is still looking for a family. You know I would love to be this kids mom...but there is this husband of mine! I tell you, the family that get's to adopt this kid will be blessed! I'm sure of it! He is listed with Great Wall of China if you think you might be that lucky family.

My new blog header

What do you think about my new blog header? When we adopted Philip from a state orphanage in Bangkok he was 2 years old. I remember 6 months after we brought him home we took him to this very large park. He was running and running and running! It was the coolest picture of freedom I ever witnessed. And in that moment I decided I wanted to adopt again. In Bangkok he shared a bedroom with 50 other kids (Thomas was one of those kids). This was his group. They shared the playground with 300 other kids. The orphanage was small. It had two busy roads surrounding it, and a two story freeway running next to it. Now here Philip was running like he never ran before. Freedom!!! Adopting an orphan is like taking a fish from a tiny little fish bowl and giving them an ocean to swim in. You can not change the whole world but you can change the world for one. You can change everything for one. Freedom...sweet freedom!!!
Here is a good place to find free blog headers.

Waiting kids

I just got the SN Chinese waiting list of Adoption Advocates International. They have 3 older kids all healthy needing families soon. Two girls and a boy. I can not show their photo's but they are really cute kids. A child is no longer allowed to be adopted in China after the age of 14. One of the girls (Mary) needs to have her adoption finalized by next March. It would mean a family willing to move fast!!! If you are not interested in an older child, please just pray with me. I believe God will answer our prayers. Every child deserves a family. This is their last chance to have a family. AAI also has other beautiful kids of different ages and SN's. Contact Ky for more information. We adopted Philip and Thomas with AAI. I love this agency. They are small and personal. I recommend them 100%.

Jessica's Art for Sale

This photo was taken today of Jessica and some of her art work. I haven't got the wall space for all of this art so I think I will sell it to raise some money for orphans. If you would like a picture then let me know.
Jessica is 16 years old and has autism.

The starfish story

Once upon a time, there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work. One day, as he was walking along the shore, he looked down the beach and saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself at the thought of someone who would dance to the day, and so, he walked faster to catch up.As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, and that what he was doing was not dancing at all. The young man was reaching down to the shore, picking up small objects, and throwing them into the ocean. He came closer still and called out "Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?"The young man paused, looked up, and replied "Throwing starfish into the ocean.""I must ask, then, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?" asked the somewhat startled wise man.To this, the young man replied, "The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don't throw them in, they'll die."Upon hearing this, the wise man commented, "But, young man, do you not realize that there are miles and miles of beach and there are starfish all along every mile? You can't possibly make a difference!"At this, the young man bent down, picked up yet another starfish, and threw it into the ocean. As it met the water, he said, "It made a difference for that one."

A great store for Chinese cloths

I got my package in the mail with the Chinese dress I bought for Sarah. It's really beautiful but almost too small. I got her a size 6 and I think she will just be able to wear it once or twice. I just looked up their online store. They have a great selection. I decided to buy the boys some Chinese suits, Sarah a new outfit, and a shirt for Juergen ,Nicole and Jessica. They didn't have anything in my size. I even got Sarah a pair of shoes all for 60€ including shipping.

she was kissing the walls

Before dinner tonight my silly Sarah started kissing everything in sight. She kissed the table and kissed the walls. I was laughing. I asked her why? She said she loves her house. Oh!!! So cute!!!

U.S. Vietnam adoptions end

The US will end it's adoption agreement with Vietnam. Very sad but true. Here is the CNN story.
